INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

The International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga. Students of SPS performed various Asanas on 21 st June, 2022which incorporates different poses and postures. Each of the poses has spiritual significance.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

Independence Day is celebrated on 15th August. Chief Guest of the day was Municipal chairman of Tiruttani, Mrs.Saraswathi along with Guest of honor Mr.Nagaraj, Sub-Inspector of Police Tiruttani. On this day children highlighted about the sacrifice, struggle and great contribution of freedom fighters to achieve independence. Our Honourable Correspondent SriShreeMohanjiDamaniandTreasurer Sri Anshulji Agarwal distributed prizes to the winners of Fancy dress competition.

KRISHNA JAYANTHI CELEBRATION

Krishna Janmashtami, also known as Gokulashtami, is celebrated with great enthusiasm and marks the birth of Lord Krishna. Devotees observe fast and sing devotional songs for him. We celebrate this day with much fervor and enthusiasm. Our kids dressed up as child Krishna, market lined up with fancy items of decoration and elegant handis.

ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION

Annual School Day was celebrated on 26 th August 2022 by SSDVAssociation in Chennai. The Chief Guest of the event was Sri.Sesha Sai Honorary Consul General, Republic of Seychelles, Smt.Renu Maheshwari, SEBI Registered Investment Advisor, was the guest of honour in the presence of Sri.K.G.Bahetiji, President of SSDVA, Chennai. Students of SPS received prizes for their best performances.

TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

Worshiping guru is the essence of our rich culture and heritage. SPS conducted various programs on behalf of Teachers’ day.Games were conducted for teaching & non-teaching staffs followed by the distribution of the prizes. Teaching staff were honoured with Shawls and Gifts.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

Investiture Ceremony was conducted on 6 th September, 2022. Chief Guest of the programme was Sri.Vignesh Tamilmaran, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tiruttani. The objective of this program is to inculcate the leadership quality among the young students. School Captain, Vice Captain, Sports Captain, Sports Vice Captain along with other house Captains headed by House Commanders are honoured with badges. Oath taking ceremony was initiated by the Chief Guest with his motivational speech focusing on the responsibilities of the young leaders.

DUSSAHRA CELEBRATION

Transport department did Ayudha Pooja to all the vehicles and Saraswathi Pooja has been performed in front office.

PONGAL CELEBRATION

Pongal is one such festival that is celebrated to thank the Sun God and Lord Indra for helping farmers in getting better-yielding crops. On this auspicious day we prepared Sugar Pongal and special pooja is performed to thank the Sun -God.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS

Republic Day was celebrated as a mark of fervent patriotism in the school with respect to our National Flag followed by National Anthem. Chief Guest of the day was Smt.Gunasundari, Panchayat President of Murukambattu.

ANNUAL SPORTS DAY FESTIVAL

Annual Sports Day Festival was conducted on 18 th February 2023. The Chief Guest of the event was Sri.M.N.Hemadri, Sub-Registrar & Guest of Honour is Sri. Dr.Raghuram. Other dignitaries on the dias were Sri.ShreeMohanji Damani, The Correspondent of SPS, Sri.Anshulji Agarwal, Treasurer and Sri.Vivekji Bukrediwala, ECA Coordinator as special invitees. Children performed many colourful and enthusiastic displays. On the same we have enclosed our ECA activities like Silambam, Musical Instruments playing, Western & Classical dance for the session 2022-23.Dignitaries honoured the children with medals and trophies for their excellence in various sports activities. The best house Trophy was bagged by C.V.RAMAN House for scoring maximum points in various individual and group sports events.

PUPPET MAKING

Puppets can help children to learn rhymes and songs as they imitate the puppet too. There are a number of motor skills that children can improve through playing with puppets. The fine movement required to wear a puppet helps with dexterity and using fingers to manipulate the puppet improves fine motor coordination.

PICK AND DESCRIBE

In order to develop identifying and speaking skills, Pick and say competition was conducted for the kids of kindergarten.They participated with their smiling face and received the certificates of appreciation.

CREATIVE WRITING

Creative writing can help us feel more connected to the world around us. It improves organizational skills, test scores, and problem-solving abilities while also boosting creativity and connecting with empathy on a higher level than just reading. Many students have participated from class 3rd to 9th and showcased how they view the world around them throughtheir creative writing.

STORY TELLING COMPETITION

Reading and storytelling helps children learn about sounds, words and language. Stories define us, shape us, control us, and make us. Not every human culture in the world is literate, but every single culture tells stories. SPS conducted Story telling competition for the students of Grade 1 & 2.

RHYMES RECITATION

Singing along to nursery rhymes creates a bond between the kids in the class. They enjoy reciting the same rhyme together and love the sense of accomplishment that they get and words of appreciation and encouragement from their parents or teachers boosts their attitude towards learning when they get the words right.

PAPER BAG MAKING COMPETITION

A paper bag making competition was organized for the students of U.K.G.This competition was conducted with a view of bringing awareness and instilling the thought of restoring the environment. Students showcased their creativity and artistic skills by making beautiful paper bags and decorating them vibrantly. They used different materials to decorate the bags.

GANESH IDOL MAKING COMPETITION

SPS organized competitions for the students of Grade 1 to 8in making clay Ganesh idols in a bid to enlighten them on the need to protect the environment.Students made Ganesh idols of various sizes with clay, paper, vegetables, rice flour and fruits.Children showed interest to make Ganesh idols without using paints.

GANESHA DECORATING COMPETITION

Decoration helps students feel a greater sense of responsibility for their learning and boost their memory of course content.Students of Kindergarten participated in the competition which enhances their thinking and creativity skills.

DEBATE COMPETITION

Debate participation promotes problem solving and innovative thinking, and helps students to build links between words and ideas that make concepts more meaningful. SPS conducted debate competition in English for the students of Grade 6 to 12 on 18 th October, 2022.Students were divided into teams based on their houses.Certificate of appreciation was given for final round students.

MIND WARS QUIZ

On account of Children’s day Mind Wars team of ZEE TV conducted quiz in our school. Preliminary round was conducted for all the students of Grade 3 to 10 and for final round six teams were selected each team consists of two members. Based on the maximum score of the teams 1 st & 2 nd place was announced as winners. Certificate of appreciation was given to all the final round students and received Cash prize gift vouchers for winners.

JCI EXCEL AWARD

We are glad to inform that SPS has received state 1st, 2nd and 3rd in different categories in JCI Erode State Level GK Exam. Medals received for 7 students for being in Distinction. Also received Best Principal Award, Good Participation Award, Best GK teacher Award.

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD FOUNDATION

Olympiads as conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation provided a big platform where students can show their talent at International, national or state level. Students of SPS bagged 15 Gold Medals of Excellence which includes three international level of ranking.

NATYA FEST – 2022

SSDV school conducted Inter School Dance competition, NATYA FEST on 16 th July, 2022 in Chennai. SPS participated in that competition along with SSDV associated schools and bagged various prizes under different categories.

NATIONAL QUIZ ON TOURISM

Students have won prizes in the Tourism of India Quiz conducted by Mind Wars in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India.42,553 students from all over the country participated in the quiz and our students got the following in National level.

ANUVRAT NATIONAL CREATIVITY CONTEST

Anuvart – Vishva Bharti Society is an NGO which works to promote a culture of peace and Non-violence among children. They conducted National wide creativity contest which includes creative writing, drawing, singing and speech for the class 3 to 12.S.Sudhir Avinesh from Grade-12 achieved National level 1st place in Creative writing in Senior category and R.Harini from Grade-8 got 2nd place in Junior category.

AHA GURU

AhaGuru's Quiz is a great way to check your skills. It encourages students to take the quiz on maths and science to know their performance in the grade-level topics. Around 97 students of SPS took part in this competition and secured various district level prizes.

RAZMATAZZ- ADZAP

KAB Conducted Adzap Interschool competition on 21st January, 2023 in Chennai.SPS Students participated in that competition along with SSDV associated schools and won 1st place in Sub Senior and Senior category.

HINDI OLYMPIAD EXAM

Swami Vivekananda Education and Research Centre from Pune conducted Olympiad tests for the Students of Grade 1 to 10 to improve the skills in Hindi language. Students of SPS participated in the Hindi Olympiad exam and received trophies as well as certificate of appreciation.

SPEAK UP COMPETITION

Public speaking competitions are social and interactive.These interactions benefit students as learners, as they can observe how others approach similar tasks, share ideas, and use their words and actions to motivate and inspire.Speak up competition was conducted for Grade 1 to 12 by MFSD school. Students from SPS participated in the competition with much anxiety and won many prizes in each category. Students received cash prize as well as certificate of appreciation.

MASTER MIND QUIZ

Shakthi Public School conducted MASTER MIND-2022 Inter School Quiz Championship for all the SSDV unit Schools on 26 th November 2022 at 11am in MFSD Premises. The Correspondent and Principal of SPS welcomed the Chief Guest and Dignitaries. The event started with prayer and lighting of lamp by the chief guest and dignitaries. Master mind quiz which stood as a startup for knowledge based competition was conducted for 3 categories-Sub Junior (III-V), Junior (VI-VIII) and seniors (IX-XII). Preliminary round was conducted for students of all schools to bring out their hidden talents and the selected students were participated in finals. Students of each school showcased their talents with their dazzling performance. The 1 st prize winner received Rs.1000, the 2 nd prize winner received Rs.500 and Rs.150 was given as consolation prize for all the participants. Surprise cash prize of Rs.100 were awarded to the students who gave right answers during the audience round.

THIRUVALLUR DISTRICT ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIP 2022

District level athletic championship was organized by Rajiv Gandhi Sports Academy in Thiruvallur on 6 th & 7 th August 2022. R. Jayashree from 7 th TOPAZ won 3rd place in Shot-put under the age group 12.

STATE LEVEL JUNIOR BADMINTON WARRIORS

Suren T.R of IV Topaz participated in State level Junior Badminton Tournament and Stood as Runner.Received Trophy as well as Certificate of appreciation was given for his best performance.

STATE LEVEL YOGASANA CHAMPIONSHIP-2022

Thiruvallur District Yogasana Association conducted State Level Yogasana Championship on 13 th November in Chennai. SPS Students of Grade 3 to 11 have participated in various categories and bagged thirty trophies with certificate of appreciation and won Overall best School Championship.

KIDS SPORTS OLYMPIAD

S.S Citizen School, Chennai, Conducted Interschool Kids sports Olympiad on 12th January 2023.Students of SPS from L.K.G to Grade V participated in various events and bagged 44 medals along with overall best School championship.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS (IPR)-AWARENESS PROGRAM

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of independence, the Government of India has begun a mission to spread awareness on IPR among students. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) are exclusive rights granted in the form of Patents, Designs, Trademarks, and Geographical Indications. This awareness program would expose the students of institution to various types of IPR which will ignite their intellectual thoughts and motivate them to innovate and further transform their innovative ideas into Intellectual Property assets.Mr. M.D.Arun Kumar- Examiner of Patent & Design from Ministry of Commerce & Industry conducted awareness programme on 23 June 2022 in SPS Campus for the students of Grade 9 to 12.

PARENT ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

It was conducted on 6th August,2022 in our School for the parents of class 1 to 5. Mr.Saravanan from Oxford University Press gave awareness of using parent app so that Parents can help the children to learn at home.

SPS GO GREEN GANESHA RALLY

The purpose behind using an eco-friendly Ganesha is to reduce the environmental pollution that is caused by the Immersion of Ganesha idols. In order to create awareness among the public SPS Students of Grade 8 to 12 participated in GO GREEN GANESHA RALLY in Tiruttani on 30 th August 2022.The program was flagged off by the Chief Guest Shri.M.Gnanadhi, The Traffic Inspector of police, Tiruttani.

TEACHERS ORIENTATION PROGRAM

Schools across India are transitioning to hybrid models of operating systems. To meet this emerging need, Macmillan has developed and an integrated solution called Altura – Advancing Learning and Teaching Using Resources and Assessments.Macmillan conducted Teachers orientation program on 22nd October to enhance Communication skills,Self management & Psychological classifications in them.

MEDICAL CAMP

In the memory of our beloved Correspondent late Sri Shyam Sundarji Damani Medical camp was organized in our School on 26th Oct 2022 for the students as well as staffs.Doctors from Peacock Hospital attended the camp diagnosed and provided medicines as well as health tips for the required people. Grade 1 to 5 children were vaccinated as per instructions of Tamil Nadu Medical department.

ECO-FRIENDLY SPS

Trees improve our air quality by filtering harmful dust and pollutants such as carbon monoxide, and sulfur dioxide from the air we breathe. In order to create awareness among students concerned with pollution Grade-12 Students of SPS took part and planted saplings which will absorb toxic gases in the air. Our Honourable SSDA General Secretary and Chairman of SPS Shri. Ashok Kumarji Mundhra, respected Correspondent Shri. Shree Mohanji Damani &myselfalong with Grade XII students took initiative in this event and made the day a memorable one.
